So the past two weeks have been very hectic for me… I was settling into my new life (I’ll write a whole blog post explaining) and it really stressed me. So when a friend asked if I wanted to go to the beach, I jumped at the idea.
We decided to go to the crowd favourite (and my personal favourite) beach, Camps Bay Beach. It was midday and so we had lunch and some drinks at a Cafe near the beach (Cafe Caprice) and OMG, I had the sweetest, yet most delicious Granadilla cocktail.
The beach was actually quite packed, because it was a boiling hot day (well at least for Cape Town Standards). We just lounged on some beach chairs, I read a book and it had a whole lot of girl chat. It was really all I needed to calm myself, and just hit the reset button.
I always make sure to pack a bottle of water, a pair of shades and a good book whenever I go to the beach. This time, I was reading “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini. I absolutely love his work, and I’m actually re-reading this book.
We stayed on the beach for quite a number of hours, soaking up as much peace as one can get from the beach as possible.
We were on the beach until it as almost empty. we stayed to watch the beautiful sunset (amazing), and left at around 08:30 pm, and it was a little dark already. The pictures I took do the actual sunset view no justice. I will definitely make it a point to visit the beach at sunset more…
And that was my relaxing afternoon at the beach!
Thanks for reading.
